Prior to joining GrandBanks Capital, Mr. Hurwitz was a technology investment banking analyst at Jefferies Broadview, where he worked with consumer Internet, mobile media, enterprise software and healthcare IT clients in merger and acquisition transactions.
He worked on M&A transactions valued at over $400 million, which included the sale of ViPS to NASDAQ-traded WebMD for $160 million; the sale of Zingy to Tokyo-based and JASDAQ-traded For-side.com (undisclosed amount); the sale of Rawhide Search Solutions to eXact Advertising (undisclosed amount); the sale of Bargain Network to NASDAQ-traded Vertrue (undisclosed amount); and the sale of Airborne Entertainment to Tokyo-based and JASDAQ-traded CYBIRD for $90 million.
Mr. Hurwitz earned a BA from Brown University in 2003, where he was Executive Editor of the independent student newspaper the Brown Daily Herald.
Mr. Hurwitz's interests include soccer, squash, baseball, and guitar.
