He completed residency training in emergency medicine at UCSF Fresno.
He is currently a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and an instructor for Tahoe Wilderness Medicine, an adventure travel organization training healthcare professionals in wilderness medicine.
