Mr. Stephen M.
Oristaglio is a President & Chief Investment Officer at SCS Capital Management LLC and at SCS Financial Services LLC.
He has over 40 years of experience in the investment business.
As CIO, he sets the firm’s overall investment direction, strategic portfolio asset allocation, and risk management.
He acts as one of the leaders in manager sourcing and due diligence, serves as the Co-Chair of the Investment Committee, and oversees investment research for Equities, Fixed Income, and Private Investments.
Most recently, Mr. Oristaglio was Managing Director and Head of Trading for Bridgewater Associates, the largest hedge fund firm in the industry.
Prior to Bridgewater, he was the Managing Partner of TRI Asset Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund focused on equity, credit, and macro investing.
Prior to TRI, he was the Deputy Head, then Head of Investments at Putnam Investments, where he set the investment strategy and oversaw all investment activity across fixed income, equities, and absolute return products.
Prior to Putnam, he was the Global Head of Capital Markets and Fixed Income for Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS), responsible for all interest rate, lending, and debt activities, and a senior fixed income trader for Salomon Brothers International.
Altogether, he spent over ten years in London for these two institutions.
He started his career as a broker for Conti-Commodity Services in 1979.
Mr. Oristaglio earned a BSBA in Accounting from Bucknell University in 1977 and an MS in Food Economics from the University of Delaware in 1979.
