He was the recipient of an athletic scholarship for football at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah and spent one season with the Philadelphia Eagles.
In 1985, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Weber State University.
He was named outstanding marketing graduate from the school of Business and Economics and was one of five finalists for the Crystal Crest Award.
