Mr. Samir J.
Patel is a Portfolio Manager at GLG Partners LP.
Mr. Patel was previously employed as Deputy Portfolio Manager by Hermes Investment Management Ltd. He joined Hermes Emerging Markets team in October 2009 from Polar Capital where he was the Portfolio Manager responsible for the Polar Capital Latin American Fund.
Prior to that, Mr. Patel was at Charlemagne Capital where he was a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for the firm’s OCCO Latin America hedge fund strategy and the firm’s Magna Latin America long-only fund.
Prior to his appointment at Charlemagne, Mr. Patel spent nine years as a Senior Fund Manager at Pictet & Cie specializing in Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
In addition to his responsibilities as Head of Latin American investments for the Global Emerging Market funds, he also ran the highly successful Pictet Latin American fund from 1999.
Mr. Patel holds a BSc in Financial Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London.
