Prior to becoming one of Belvedere's principals in 1999, Mr. Bachli was the senior banking partner in the San Francisco law firm of Lillick & Charles LLP (now Nixon Peabody), where he was instrumental in the formation of Belvedere’s first fund.
His practice involved the representation of domestic and international financial institutions in regulatory matters, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Bachli’s areas of specialization included public and private capital and debt financing, asset sales, bank mergers and acquisitions, and securities registrations for financial institutions.
Mr. Bachli has represented over 70 community banks and assisted in over 100 public offerings and 35 mergers.
Bachli left Belvedere in January 2003 to assume the duties of Chairman of the Board and CEO of Placer Sierra Bancshares, Fund I’s portfolio company.
He retired from this position in 2006.
Mr. Bachli received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of San Francisco and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco law School.
