Mr. Rezart Hoxhaj is a Research Fellow at European University Institute.
He is an economist whose topics of interest are development economics and international factor mobility, in particular migration and FDI.
His current research in the migration domain explores immigrants’ expectations, skilled immigration and integration/assimilation in terms of education at destination.
Before joining the Migration Policy Centre, Dr. Rezart Hoxhaj was a lecturer at the University “Ismail Qemali” of Vlore (Albania) and a CERGE-EI fellow.
Dr. Hoxhaj was awarded a joint PhD by the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Italy) and the University of Lille 1 (France) with the thesis “Essays on international migration”.
He has participated in various research projects including: “Migro – Village: from the ghetto to integration” leaded by the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” and the Puglia Region aimed at analysing the formation of ghettos of immigrants working in agriculture in the Puglia Region.
“A study of the communication channels used by migrants and asylum seekers in Italy, with a particular focus on online and social media” commissioned by DG Home.
