Mr. Philippe Nguyen founded Investors in Private Equity (« IPE ») in 2002 with François Nicoly.
Since then, he has been Chairman and Managing Partner of IPE and has been directly involved in all the transactions completed by the previous funds.
Philippe is a board member of Compagnie des Alpes and Ermewa.
A graduate of Ecole Centrale Paris engineering school and Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA), he began his career in 1986 working in the French Treasury at the General Directorate for Industry, before joining the Caisse des Dépôts Group (« CDC ») in 1991.
In 1994 he became head of CDC’s private equity activities where he notably launched CDC’s first LBO fund and completed some major LBO transactions.
The fund returned a gross investment multiple of 3.0x to its LPs.
In 2001, prior to joining IPE, he established the private equity activities of Credit Lyonnais as Chairman, and took an active part in LBO investments.
