Nirmal Ebeneze Herath Sandaratne is the founder of Centre for Poverty Analysis.
He currently holds the position of Chairman at Property Development Ltd., Director-Economic Research & Statistics at Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and President at Sri Lanka Economic Association.
His former positions include Chairman at National Development Bank Plc, Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance Plc, and Bank of Ceylon, Director at LOLC Holdings Plc and Union Assurance Plc, and Independent Non-Executive Director at Lake House Printers & Publishers Plc.
He also served as President of Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science and Sri Lanka Agricultural Economics Association.
Dr. Sandaratne received his undergraduate degree from the University of London, graduate degree from the University of Saskatchewan, and doctorate degrees from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Peradeniya.
