Mr. Jurgen Auerbach is an Advisor at Copia Associates LLC.
Until June 2006, Mr. Auerbach served as Chief Financial Officer for Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, a leading US premium chocolate manufacturer and marketer.
During his six-year tenure at Ghirardelli, Mr. Auerbach was involved first in orchestrating a turnaround of the company and then leading it to an unbroken revenue and EBITDA growth, taking the company to over $200 million in revenue.
He was involved in all operational aspects including for a period of time holding direct responsibility for all supply chain functions.
Mr. Auerbach previously headed the Corporate Controlling for the Lindt & Sprüngli Group, the leading global premium chocolate manufacturer with revenues of $2 billion.
Lindt is a public company, listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange.
Mr. Auerbach’s diverse background includes being co-founder and for nine years president of a bus operator in Switzerland, advising US companies on doing business in Europe, bringing two US companies successfully to market in Switzerland and Germany and running a discount furniture business.
He serves on the board of directors at Pyramid Breweries, Inc.(NASDAQ: PMID) and is a current and past board member of several not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Auerbach graduated summa cum laude from the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
He lives with his wife and their two children in the San Francisco Bay Area.
