John F.
Hassell is Interim President, Chief Executive Officer, and Secretary of South Carolina State Ports Authority and Vice Chairman of the Area Maritime Security Committee.
Prior to joining South Carolina State Ports Authority, he was President of The Maritime Association of South Carolina, Founding President of the Charleston Port & Seafarers Society and Founding Chairman of the SC World Trade Center.
Previously, he worked at Santee Cooper, the SC Department of Commerce and the SC State Ports Authority.
He was General Chairman of the 1993 South Carolina International Trade Conference and a Director of the Charleston Trident Development Board.
He was appointed as a Director of the SC State Ports Authority in December 2001.
Mr. Hassell received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina.
