Prior to joining Mizuho Securities USA in April 2010, Ms. Makris was a Managing Director with Brigantine Advisors from May 2009 until March 2010.
Prior to Brigantine, she was a Senior Vice President with Brean Murray, Carret & Co. from September 2007 until October 2008.
Prior to Brean Murray, Ms. Makris was a Principal with Canaccord Adams from September 2000 until July 2007.
Prior to that, Ms. Makris was a program manager at the Yankee Group, a telecommunications research and consulting firm where she managed the firm's research and consulting efforts in the areas of emerging carriers and Internet provider services.
Ms. Makris began her career in communications technology as a journalist covering wide area network technologies, carrier Internet and data services and communications policy for Data Communications magazine.
She earned two journalism awards for her pieces on the DSL market and the CLEC competition.
Ms. Makris holds a Bachelor's degree from Bucknell University and studied at Boston University's School of Medicine.
She also earned an M.A. in English Literature from Columbia University.
