Mr. Wineland graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1973.
Following five years of service with the U.S.
Army, he was a finished products distribution manager with Procter and Gamble Paper Products Company.
Mr. Wineland earned an MBA at the University of Kansas in 1981.
Prior to joining Waddell & Reed he was an equity analyst with United Missouri Bank.
He joined Waddell & Reed as an equity analyst in 1984.
He first assumed portfolio management responsibilities in 1987.
In July 1997, Mr. Wineland was appointed co-manager of Waddell & Reed Advisors Core Investment Fund, and in 1999, he was appointed manager.
