Profil
Prior to joining RBC AM in 1998, Ms. van Berkel was with Empire Financial Group for five years where she had overall responsibility for the firm's equity portfolios, with total value of $1.3 billion.
While with Empire she introduced a global approach to industry research, and developed an investment philosophy of applying rigorous fundamental, "bottom up" research to ensure value investing.
During 1988-1993, Ms. van Berkel was vice-president, equities, with Bank of Montreal Investment Management responsible for all Canadian equities within their funds.
Ms. van Berkel graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, earned her MBA from York University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst
