Mr. Guy Griffiths is a Group Managing Director of International at BAE Systems Pension Funds Investment Management Ltd. He joined the firm in October 2008 and in this role, he has responsibility for BAE Systems' Australian, Omani and Saudi Arabian operations, and for BAE Systems’ interests in MBDA Missile Systems and Air Astana.
As part of his wider responsibilities, he is also Chairman of the Trustee Board for the BAE Systems Pension Scheme.
He is on the Board of Directors at MBDA France SAS. Over the past 40 years, he has operated in most sectors of BAE Systems.
Previous posts have included commercial, procurement, IT and project management roles within the military and civil aircraft sectors and Space Systems business unit.
As IT Director for British Aerospace in 1994, Mr. Griffiths undertook a major independent review of the Company's IT infrastructure and service quality which culminated in the outsourcing of the majority of the Company's IT function.
In 1997, he moved to the Company's guided weapons subsidiary, Matra BAe Dynamics, where he was appointed Programmes Director.
With the enlargement of that Company into MBDA, he was appointed Managing Director, MBDA UK.
In 2002, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of MBDA, with operational responsibility for MBDA’s French, Italian, German and UK operations.
He remains today as non-executive Chairman and Board Member of MBDA. He was appointed CBE in the 2008 Birthday Honors List for services to the UK Defense Industry, and was named Honorary Australian of the Year in 2013 for services to the Australian Defense Industry.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cardiff.
