Iofina plc est une société holding dont le siège social est situé au Royaume-Uni. La société exerce ses activités dans le domaine de l’exploration et de l’extraction de l’iode, ainsi que dans la production de produits chimiques de spécialité. Son activité principale consiste à identifier, développer, construire, détenir et exploiter des usines d’extraction d’iode, principalement en Amérique du Nord, en s’appuyant sur sa technologie WET (Wellhead Extraction Technology) et IOsorb. La société, par l’intermédiaire de sa filiale Iofina Resources, Inc., utilise ses méthodes exclusives WET et WET IOsorb pour produire de l’iode à partir de saumure. La société, par l’intermédiaire de sa filiale Iofina Chemical, Inc., fabrique des produits chimiques de spécialité. La société produit de l’iode à partir de solutions de saumure issues des gisements de pétrole et de gaz dans ses multiples usines IOsorb. Elle intègre l’iode dans une gamme de dérivés iodés de spécialité, qui sont créés et commercialisés par l’intermédiaire d’Iofina Chemical sur divers marchés mondiaux. En outre, la société commercialise de l’iode à l’échelle mondiale et produit également d’autres produits chimiques de spécialité non iodés.
