Prior to joining Fuller & Thaler, Dr. Ding was a senior investment analyst at Nicholas Applegate Capital Management where he spent about two and a half years doing research on stock and industry selection and portfolio optimization.
Dr. Ding joined Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management in 2003.
He was also involved with managing and implementing various Nicholas Applegate domestic and international strategies.
Prior to Nicholas Applegate he worked for nine years as a senior research analyst in the Frank Russell Company's Capital Market Research Group where he developed models for asset allocation, as well as size, style and sector returns.
Dr. Ding has published a number of articles in the the Journal of Econometrics, the Journal of Empirical Finance, the Annales d'Economie et de Statistique, the Academia Economic Papers, the Journal of Portfolio Management, and the Financial Analyst Journal.
Dr. Ding received his BS in computer science from Shanghai Railway Institute and his MS in management science from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
Dr. Ding received his PhD in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, where his dissertation advisors were the Nobel Prize winners Clive Granger and Robert Engle.
