Hickey is a Managing Director in the financial services group at Piper Sandler & Co. Previously, Mr. Hickey was a Principal at Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P., where he was responsible for providing merger and acquisition and general strategic planning advice for community banks nationwide.
Sandler O’Neill regularly ranked among the top advisors to community banks, with Hickey spearheading this effort.
Over the last decade, Mr. Hickey has been one of the most active merger advisors to financial institutions and has built a substantial experience base for valuations and structure, on which many in the industry have come to rely.
He has advised clients on a variety of transactions, including buy side, sell side, capital raising and divestitures.
He has worked extensively with both domestic and foreign financial institutions.
He was one of the founders of the Investment Banking Group, which now numbers over 80 professionals in New York, Chicago, Atlanta and San Francisco.
He has advised on merger and acquisition transactions, as well as equity and debt transactions.
