Dr. Ulrich Schmidt is a Head of Research at Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
Mr. Schmidt has been a full professor of economics at the University of Kiel since 2006 and, since 2013, head of the research area "Social and Behavioral Approaches to Global Problems" at the Kiel Institute.
Besides economics journals like Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Theory, or Journal of Public Economics, he also published in top journals from other disciplines like Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, Current Biology, and Management Science.
Currently, he is on the editorial board of Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, Judgement and Decision-Making, Geneva Risk and Insurance Review, and Theory and Decision.
His research interests are in the field of behavioral and experimental economics, decision theory, health economics, and behavioral finance.
Before coming to Kiel, he held professorships in Odense and Hannover.
He completed his education at the University of Kiel with master's degrees in economics and business administration and doctorates in economics and psychology.
