Kanter is a Managing Director & Portfolio Manager at Silvercrest Asset Management Group LLC.
He joined the firm when Marathon Capital Group’s merged with Silvercrest in October of 2008.
He serves on the firm’s Management Committee and as Portfolio Manager for equity and fixed income portfolios for high net worth individuals, foundations, public corporations and bank trust departments.
Mr. Kanter co-founded Marathon Capital Group in 2000 and served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of the firm’s equity and fixed income portfolios.
Prior to starting Marathon, he was employed at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he managed the Boston office and served as Managing Director responsible for assisting in co-managing the firm’s high net worth group.
He began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1979 and left in 1983 as a top producing Vice President to join DLJ.
Mr. Kanter received a Bachelor of Arts (Summa Cum Laude) and MA degrees from Tufts University.
