Electronics & Radar Development Establishment is the R&D wing of Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The company's mission is to achieve self-reliance in critical defence technologies and systems, while equipping the armed forces with state-of-the-art weapon systems and equipment. The Directorate of Extranural Research & Intellectual Property Right (DER&IPR) works towards establishing a network with the research community in Indian academic research centres, creating centres of excellence within academic institutes, augmenting research infrastructures, and supporting advanced research through projects. The company is based in Bengaluru, India and ultimately controlled by the Government of India. The aim of ER&IPR directorate is to develop essential knowledge and capabilities for DRDO’s immediate and futuristic needs for defence product development and technologies.
