Prior to establishing his consulting company in February 2003, Mr. Tomson was the President of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, a joint City/State corporation formed by Governor George E.
Pataki and Mayor Rudolph Giuliani to oversee the revitalization of Lower Manhattan subsequent to September 11, 2001.
Mr. Tomson is a member of the Board of Managers of Finch.
Mr. Tomson’s public service career spanned over three decades.
He was First Deputy Secretary to Governor George E.
Pataki from 1995-1998.
In addition, he was the Governor’s chief policy-maker for energy and communications.
In the private sector, in addition to heading his consulting company, he has served as Senior Vice President of Plug Power, Inc. a leading fuel cell developer.
He has had a successful law career, having been a managing partner of Plunkett & Jaffe and a partner at Hiscock & Barclay.
Mr. Tomson also served as Chairman and CEO of the New York State Thruway Authority and its subsidiary, the New York State Canal Corporation.
He served as Chairman of Albany NanoTech, a University/industry partnership, which oversees a billion dollar public/private investment in advanced research and development.
