Lisa U.
Carr, M.D., Ph.D., has been the Vice President of Medical Affairs since September 1998.
Prior to joining the Company in June 1998 as Director of Medical Affairs, she was Associate Medical Director at the Institute of Clinical Immunology and Infectious Diseases at Syntex Development Research in Palo Alto, California.
She has more than eight years of international industry experience in conducting clinical drug trials in immunosuppression, nephrology, neurology, gastroenterology and cardiovascular disorders.
She was Lead Clinical Research Physician at Syntex, directing a pivotal clinical trial of mycophenolate mofetil, for which an IND and NDA were approved for solid organ transplantation.
Dr. Carr holds a medical degree and a Ph.D.
degree magna cum laude from the University of Munich in Germany.
