Ms. Kara L.
Downing is a Portfolio Manager at Spero-Smith Investment Advisers, Inc. She joined the firm in 2002 and was promoted to Portfolio Manager in 2007.
She is responsible for personalized investment strategies and financial planning consulting services for new and existing clients.
Ms. Downing began her career with Spero-Smith as an Assistant Portfolio Manager, helping portfolio managers with trading, account review, and investment strategy and financial planning research projects.
She also served as Investment Analyst, researching stocks and mutual funds for the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and providing client reports for individual, foundation, endowment, and corporate retirement plan clients.
In addition to her portfolio management responsibilities, she currently serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing and managing compliance issues within the organization and ensuring that Spero-Smith complies with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, cum laude, with a concentration in Accounting, from Bowling Green State University.
She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, where she serves as Treasurer on the Northeast Ohio chapter’s Board of Directors.
