Dr. Joseph A. Sonnier was appointed as AmeriPath’s President on June 1, 2003.
He joined AmeriPath on September 1, 1997, when our firm acquired UniPath LTD, of Dallas, Texas.
Since then, he has served as the Managing Director of Unipath and the Regional Managing Director of AmeriPath’s Southwest Region.
He, who has practiced medicine for the past 20 years, graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1979 and completed his residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
He earned his board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology in 1983.
He also serves as a member of the board of directors of the American Clinical Laboratory Association.
