Mr. Jonathan D.
Pearl, CFA, is a Partner, Portfolio Manager & Head of Origination at Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC.
He is responsible for leading our origination process for private creditinvestments.
In addition, he is involved in the underwriting, due diligence, and creditevaluation of investment opportunities.
Mr. Pearl joined Lord Abbett in 2023 and was named Partner in 2025.
His previous experience includes serving as Managing Director and Head of Sponsor Coverage for The Carlyle Group’s private credit platform, where he led the development of Carlyle’s origination strategy, and served as a member of the investment committee and an officer of Carlyle Secured Lending (NASDAQ: CGBD), a publicly traded business development company.
Prior to that, he served as Principal with Golub Capital, where he originated, underwrote, and structured senior, unitranche, and mezzanine loans to sponsor-backed companies in the middle market.
He also served on Golub’s workout/restructuring and healthcare sector coverage teams.
Earlier in his career, he was a Vice President with Duff & Phelps’s (now Kroll) valuation consulting platform.
He has worked in the financial services industry since 2002.
He earned a BS in finance and international studies from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
