Mr. McDonnell has business experience in both publicly quoted companies and governmental organizations.
He was, from 2000, Managing Director of SMF Technologies Plc, a Dublin and AIM listed electronic development and manufacturing company.
In July 2003, he successfully led a management buy-out of the business of SMF Technologies Plc.
Between 1998 and 2000 he was finance director of Shannon Development, the regional economic development agency for the mid-West of Ireland, with an asset base of 180 million and turnover in excess of A 90 million.
Mr. McDonnell qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse & Co, in 1987.
