Mr. John J.
Smutniak is Hedge Fund Portfolio Manager at Fitzwilliam Asset Management Ltd. Mr. Smutniak previously worked for Lyonross Capital Management in New York where he was a portfolio manager on their fund of funds products, including both conservative and aggressive portfolios.
Prior to joining Lyonross, he spent five years as a journalist at The Economist covering economics and financial markets, writing on such topics as global markets, derivatives, behavioral finance, private equity and risk management.
Before that he was a Research Associate at Harvard for two years covering global mining companies and with consultancy Charles River in Boston for four years as an associate.
He has an economics degree from M.I.T.
and is a licensed pilot.
