As a senior associate, Mr. Marcos is responsible for analyzing investment opportunities, executing financings for new and existing portfolio companies, and helping portfolio companies on M&A, strategic, and monetization issues.
He also contributes to building DCM’s international network of contacts, helping to expand DCM’s business development capabilities in Europe.
Prior to joining DCM, Mr. Marcos worked at Bain & Company in their Palo Alto, San Francisco, London, and Paris offices.
While at Bain, he was initially part of the Private Equity Practice, advising top tier European buyout and venture capital firms on investments and deal execution in a wide range of industries across all major European countries.
In addition, Mr. Marcos advised private equity groups on investment strategy in the European technology sector.
He then moved to the Bay Area where he focused on advising fortune 500 technology companies on a variety of strategic and operational issues.
He worked with US clients in the enterprise software, services, PC, semiconductor, test and measurement and telecommunication industries on issues spanning across the US, Europe, and Asia.
Prior to joining Bain & Company, Mr. Marcos was an analyst in the Merger and Acquisitions department of Morgan Stanley in London where he specialized in corporate finance and mergers and acquisition transactions across Europe.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Marcos was a Lieutenant at the 6th Paratrooper Regiment of Marines (6th R.P.I.Ma) in the French army where he led training and combat platoons in France and Africa.
Mr. Marcos earned a BA in Business and Finance from ESSEC (Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commmerciales, France) where he was an avid varsity soccer player.
He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
