Mr. Jean Michel Gires is Independent Director at Questor Technology, Inc. and Venture Partner at Chrysalix Energy Management, Inc. He is on the Board of Directors at Questor Technology, Inc.
Mr. Gires joined Chrysalix EVC in April 2013.
He has a varied and distinguished career in mining, heavy oil, sustainable development, and proven leadership skills.
Most recently, Mr. Gires served as President & CEO of Total E&P Canada after having originally joined Total S.A., one of the largest energy companies in the world, in 1988.
Mr. Gires is highly familiar with the venture capital space, having established and been President of Total Energy Ventures.
His career at Total also included the senior roles of President TotalFinaElf Venezuela, Senior Vice President North Sea Division, Vice President Strategy and Planning Control, Executive Vice President Market Portugal, and CEO Total Spain.
Prior his long tenure at Total, Mr. Gires was CEO at the Bureau de Contrôle of Nuclear Construction for the French Ministry of Industry.
Mr. Gires is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines in Paris, and recipient of the Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur, one of France’s highest civilian honors.
He is also the former Co-Chairman of the Oil Sands Leadership Initiative and a former member of Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance.
