Prior to Frantzen Capital in June 2004, Mr. Frantzen was most recently Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer in charge of Global Equity and Fixed Income investing for Federated Investors.
Mr. Frantzen joined Federated in 1995 to establish Federated's international investment operation.
He grew assets from zero to over $6 billion in global equity and fixed income assets.
He retired in November 2002.
Prior to joining Federated, Mr. Frantzen served for three years as the Chief Investment Officer, International Equities, for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., where he managed the $1.5 billion international units.
Mr. Frantzen.s previous experience also includes posts as Director, Executive Vice President and Director of Equities for Oppenheimer
Management Corp.
and as Chairman of the Board and Chief Investment Officer of Yamaichi Capital Management.
Mr. Frantzen first gained national recognition as a senior investment manager for the then $30 billion College Retirement Equities Fund (CREF).
During his 17-year tenure there, he founded and built CREF.s International Department, became Chairman of the International Investment Committee while serving as one of the three members of CREF.s domestic investment committee.
Mr. Frantzen grew international assets to $6 billion from 1978 to 1987.
He was also Managing Director of CREF, B.V.
In addition, Mr. Frantzen served as an outside Director of Swiss Bank Corporation Portfolio Management International.
Mr. Frantzen earned a B.S.
in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota.
