Lieutenant General McKissock retired as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Installations and Logistics, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington D.C.
in 2002.
In addition numerous speaking engagements, he also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Sapient Corporation, a publicly traded information technology solutions provider.
General McKissock was born on Feb.
24, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He graduated from Edinboro University in 1964 and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps in 1966.
In addition to holding a B.S- degree in education, General McKissocks formal military education includes the Motor Transport Officers Course, the Supply Officers Leadership Course, Amphibious Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College (1980) and Industrial College of the Armed Forces (1984) General McKissock served two tours of independent duty; one with the Inspector-Instructor Staff, 4th Military Police Battalion in Pittsburgh, PA..
and the other as the Inspector-Instructor, 4th Maintenance Battalion, in Charlotte, N,C, He served afloat as the Combat Cargo Officer, USS Cleveland (LPD-7), General McKissock also served in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Manpower, Reserve Affairs, and Logistics), and as the Assistant Chief of Staff, 6-4, Second Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF).
His personal decorations include: Legion of Merit with gold star; the Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars; Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V; Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V; National Defense Service Medal with bronze star and the Armed Forces
