Munro is a Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer at Newton Investment Management North America LLC.
He manages and leads Newton’s business by establishing and developing appropriate business goals – both short-term targets and strategic objectives to ensure that clients are well-served, that the firm succeeds commercially, and that it attracts and retains talented people.
Mr. Munro is also a Chair of the Executive Management Committee and the NIM NIMNA Investment Oversight Committee.
Mr. Munro started his career as an Actuarial Trainee at Scottish Provident, then joined Standard Life Investments (SLI) as an Inflation-Linked Portfolio Manager in 1995.
He spent nearly 20 years at SLI where he was Head of Multi-Asset and Fixed-Interest Investing and was latterly a member of that company’s board.
He joined Newton from Aviva Investors where he was Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Aviva plc group executive team for seven years.
He has a first-class honors degree in Physics from the University of Edinburgh and is a Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries.
He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Wharton Business School, Philadelphia.
