Dr. Carpenter is a Founder of RMG.
In 1981, Dr. Carpenter cofounded Horsehead Industries.
Since 1981, Horsehead has successfully completed transactions totaling over $3 billion, including acquisitions, divestures and corporate financings.
From 1989 to 1995, Dr. Carpenter was President and Chief Operating Officer of Horsehead Industries, Inc. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Recycling Operations from its inception until February 1990, when he became Vice Chairman.
He has served as a Director of Horsehead Industries since its inception.
Dr. Carpenter also serves on the Boards of Directors of Allied Resource Corporation, Alanx Wear Solutions and the Safeguard International Fund .
Dr. Carpenter is the father of Horsehead President and RMG's Managing General Partner, Mr. James Carpenter.
Dr. Carpenter received a BS in Chemistry from Alfred University in 1959 and a PhD in Ceramic Science from the State University of New York, with a dissertation on zinc oxide in 1963.
