Originally qualified as a chartered accountant, he served with 3i between 1960 and 1992 and became Chief Executive.
He was previously a director of Brixton Plc, Brunner Mond Holdings Plc, and Chairman of Deutschland Investment Corp, Inc. He is a member of the Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal and a former member of the South Bank Board and of the Council of King Edward VII Hospital, Midhurst.
