Profil
Mr. Nelson joined PPM America in July 2001 as a Vice President.
He is responsible for identifying investment opportunities and for making investment recommendations across a broad array of industries.
Prior to joining PPM, he was a Principal at Catalyst Equity Partners, LLC, a private equity fund formed to make control equity investments in businesses that are strategically mismanaged, capital constrained, or requiring equity to execute a turnaround or to fund a plan of reorganization from bankruptcy.
He has held various operating roles within portfolio companies including acting as the interim Chief Financial Officer for a manufacturer of Stanley-branded products.
Mr. Nelson's industry experience includes: retail, general manufacturing, communications, automotive, distribution, consumer products and natural resources.
Prior to Catalyst, he was an Associate at Chilmark Partners, LLC, the general partner for the $1.1 billion Zell-Chilmark Fund and for Chilmark Fund II.
Mr. Nelson began his career as an Analyst in the Corporate Finance Department of Kidder, Peabody & Co., Inc. After two years, he left Kidder with the three senior members of the Chicago office to form the Chicago Mergers & Acquisitions office for Robert W.
