Barris is Managing Director at Alcentra NY LLC.
He is responsible for managing all U.S.
and global high yield portfolios, and has extensive experience managing a broad range of high yield bond strategies for both institutional and retail funds.
He is also responsible for managing Alcentra’s multi-asset credit portfolios, including US and European bonds and loans.
He has considerable experience in credit analysis with over 25 years of investment experience.
He joined Alcentra in January 2013 as part of the combination of Alcentra with Standish Mellon Asset Management’s high yield business, another subsidiary of BNY Mellon.
Previously He was working at Standish in 2005 as a Senior Credit Analyst, and elevated to Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for US and global high yield investments.
He joined Standish from State Street Research & Management where he was as a high yield research analyst.
Prior to that, he worked for Credit Suisse First Boston (Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette) in the leveraged finance group.
He has an M.B.A.
from Columbia Business School, a B.A.
from Hamilton College.
