He sold For Health in 2001 and established a private consulting practice to assist health plans and hospital systems with mergers and acquisitions, business plan development, strategic marketing and fund raising.
In 2003, Mr. Birmingham was recruited by the President of PacifiCare Health Plans, to lead a senior consulting team to direct business development and operations for Medicare Advantage special needs plans in eight markets.
Mr. Birmingham recently left this assignment (with the sale of PacifiCare to United Health) and resumed his national consulting practice.
Mr. Birmingham completed his undergraduate studies at St. Josephs University (Philadelphia, PA) and received a MBA with honors from Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN) in 1990.
