Equity strategies and was appointed to the Investment Strategy Committee.
In 2014, he began managing the firm’s Canadian Equity strategies.
Prior to joining Jarislowsky Fraser, Mr. Gauthier was a Member of the Core Canadian Equity Team at CIBC Asset Management and Portfolio Manager of the CIBC Financial Companies Fund.
This was after spending nearly four years at Phillips, Hager & North in Vancouver, where he was a Partner and a Member of the International Team, responsible for global financials.
Previously, he was a highly-ranked sell-side Analyst at TD Securities covering financials.
He started his career at La Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec as an Economist and eventually transitioned to the Canadian equity group, where he was an Analyst for two years and a sector Portfolio Manager for four years.
He received both his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Economics from the University of Montréal.
