Bjerring is Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Institute for Information Technology at NRC and a Member of the Board of the Communications Research Centre and C3.
Dr. Bjerring was President and Chief Executive Officer of CANARIE, Inc. until October 1, 2008.
He was a Member of the National Broadband Task Force and Chairman of the Economic Benefits Working Group.
Dr. Bjerring worked for 18 years as a Faculty Member and a Senior Administrator in academic planning and information technology services at the University of Western Ontario.
He received a BAS degree and an MAS degree from the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto and a PhD from the University of Western Ontario.
