Research company Vivesto announces that the first dogs have been dosed in the company's pharmacokinetic and toxicological study with the drug candidate Cantrixil. The study is part of the preclinical development program within hematological cancers.
A total of four dogs are included, receiving increasing doses in three rounds, and results are expected during the summer of 2026.
The study will contribute data for further clinical development in acute myeloid leukemia as well as for a planned pilot study in dogs suffering from cancer.
"The PK/toxicology study is of great importance for the Cantrixil program and has two main purposes. Firstly, it will generate preclinical documentation to support further clinical development in humans within acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Secondly, it will generate important pharmacokinetic and safety-related data for a pilot study in dogs with cancer, which could be started at the end of the year," says Erik Kinnman, CEO of Vivesto.
