Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory engages on research of environmental studies, nanoscience, and quantitative biology, physics and nuclear energy. The lab is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and managed by the University of California. It was founded in 1931 by Ernest Orlando Lawrence and is headquartered in Berkeley, CA.
