Ron Tatum co-founded Alternative Technology in 1986, as a small, regional software distributor.
Today, Alternative Technology Inc. is a premier value-add and knowledge-based distributor with offices in Colorado, California, Florida, and Canada, and distribution across North America.
Tatum has more than 40 years of experience in sales, business development, and management.
He started his career at Burroughs Corporation where he excelled in various sales and management roles before joining Sperry Univac.
After serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the western United States, Tatum left Sperry in 1980 to purchase his first successful entrepreneurial business: Elcom, Inc. Five years after founding Alternative Technology, Tatum sold Elcom in 1991, to focus his energies on expanding his new venture.
Tatum has realized his vision for the company, helping grow Alternative Technology to more than $100 million — and positioning the company as a competitor to multi-billion dollar giants.
