Robert is Executive Chairman & Publisher and a co-founder of POLITICO, a global news and information company focused on the intersection of politics and policy.
Previously, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allbritton Communications Company, a family owned media company that owned and operated seven ABC-affiliated broadcast stations, including WJLA in Washington, D.C., and also News Channel 8, a 24-hour local news cable programming service and website in the Washington metropolitan area.
Robert serves on the Board of Directors of the Lyndon B. Johnson Foundation, Austin, Texas, and is a Trustee Emeritus of Wesleyan University.
He is a graduate of Wesleyan University, where he majored in government.
Robert is a member of the Alfalfa Club, Metropolitan Club and University Club in Washington, D.C., the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in La Jolla, California, and Annabel’s in London, England.
He is an avid skier and a licensed pilot.
