Lt.
General Scofield, United States Air Force (retired), was the commander of Aeronautical Systems Center and Wright Patterson Air Force Base prior to his retirement in June 1996.
His distinguished 35-year Air Force career included twelve years as a pilot.
He was the Air Force’s Gray Eagle (the Air Force aviator with the longest active rated service) his last two years on active duty.
He served as program director for two massive aircraft development programs, helping bring both the F-117 stealth fighter and B-2 advanced technology bomber to reality.
Following his Air Force career, he served in executive positions with GenCorp Aerojet and has remained a consultant to the Air Force and the aerospace industry.
He is also Senior Advisor to the Air Force Research Laboratory regarding Directed Energy and Manufacturing Technology programs.
He currently sits on the board of Headwaters MB.

Scofield is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, holds an M.S.
in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Oklahoma University.
