Dr. Nelson A. Saiers is Chief Investment Officer at Saiers Capital LLC, formerly known as Alphabet Management, LLC.
He joined the firm in 2010.
Prior to joining Saiers Capital, Dr. Saiers was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, where he ran a proprietary trading desk reporting into equities with a broad mandate to trade volatility arbitrage, equity derivatives, convertible bonds, risk arbitrage and commodities, among other strategies.
Previously, at UBS, he was in charge of a derivatives trading area focused on special situations and credit equity trading within the equity proprietary desk.
He began his trading career at Susquehanna Investment Group where he co-founded and ran a proprietary volatility trading desk.
Dr. Saiers graduated with a doctorate degree in Pure Mathematics from the University of Virginia, one year after completing his undergraduate degree.
