Mr. Michael L.
Winchell is Founder & Chief Investment Officer at Larkin Point Investment Advisors LLC.
He is an emeritus member of Columbia University's College Board of Visitors and President of the Duryea Navesink Library Association.
He founded Larkin Point in June 2012.
Before founding Larkin Point, Mr. Winchell served Mariner Investment Group from July 2008 through March 2012 as principal of Mariner VCL Asset Management.
Prior to joining Mariner, he served as managing partner of Hunter Partners LLC and Chief Operating Officer of Bear Wagner Specialists LLC from 1999 through 2007.
Before joining Hunter, he was a Senior Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer of Bear Stearns & Co. He served as head of International Fixed Income Trading from 1995 through 1998, and served on the Risk, Funding and Credit Committees for Bear Stearns.
In 1997, he was elected to the Bear Stearns' Board of Directors.
He began his career in finance as an Economist at Merrill Lynch in 1983.
He was former director for FNX Ltd.
Mr. Winchell graduated from UNC Greensboro in 1978, where he also earned a M.A. in English in 1980.
He earned a M.A. in Economics from North Carolina State University in 1982.
