Prior to joining Focus Equity, Mr. Cahr was President of Saxony Consultants, providing financial and marketing expertise to organizations worldwide.
At Saxony, Mr. Cahr raised millions of dollars for companies in diverse markets, as well as serving as CEO or Chairman as required.
Mr. Cahr was Chairman of Allscripts, Inc., the leading developer of hand-held devices that provide physicians with real-time access to health, drug and other critical information, from September 1997 through March 1999.
He also served as Allscripts' President and Chief Executive Officer from June 1994 to September 1997.
From October 1987 to June 1994, Mr. Cahr was Venture Group Manager for Allstate Venture Capital where he oversaw investments in technology, healthcare services, biotech and medical services.
At Allstate, he invested over $150 million and served as a board member of 11 companies.
In September 2004, Focus Equity Partners acquired C&M Pharmacy, LLC, a specialty pharmacy servicing chronically ill patients requiring multiple complex pharmaceutical therapies for treating HIV/AIDS, severe mental illness, transplants and Hepatitis C.
In June 2006, this business was successfully sold to Walgreens Health Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walgreen Company (NYSE:WAG).
Mr. Cahr represented Focus Equity Partners on the Board of Directors and ran the Company’s day-to-day operations as its Chief Executive Officer.
In October 2006 and January 2008, Focus Equity Partners provided two rounds of growth capital to BOB, LLC d/b/a Business Only Broadband.
BOB owns and operates the largest independent wireless broadband networks in Chicago and New York City, providing wireless broadband Internet connectivity services to the financial sector and large enterprise customers.
Mr. Cahr received an undergraduate degree in Economics from Colgate University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
