Dr. Marcel Fratzscher is a President of The German Institute for Economic Research.
He is Professor of Macroeconomics at Humboldt-Universität Zu Berlin.
He is an author and columnist on economic and social issues.
He is a member of the High-level Advisory Board of the United Nations on the sustainable development goals (SDGs), an Associate Editor of the Journal of International Economics, a member of the scientific advisory board of the German Ministry of the Economy, and a member of the supervisory board of Hertie School of Governance.
His work focuses on macroeconomics, inequality, and European integration.
In October 2020, Berlin Verlag published his book Die Neue Aufklärung (The New Enlightenment), in which he presents an in-depth societal analysis and advocates using the coronavirus pandemic as a chance to reform the state, society, and economy.
