Mr. Leo Huang is a Managing Director at Starwood Capital Group Global LLC.
Prior to joining Starwood capital, he was with Goldman, Sachs & Co from 1998 until August 2008, where he was a Managing Director and co-head of commercial real estate lending.
In that capacity, he managed the origination and distribution of loans backed by commercial real estate, including new issue CMBS and commercial real estate CDOs.
He was a primary architect of the CMBS market benchmark 'GG' program and orchestrated the origination, securitization and syndication of over dollar 100bn of commercial real estate transactions.
He was a member of the Board of Directors and a managing director of Goldman Sachs Commercial Mortgage Capital, Goldman's Dallas-based loan origination platform.
He served in various roles, including as a member of Goldman's credit committees and Chief Financial Officer of Goldman Sachs Mortgage Securities Corp II.
Prior to Goldman, he worked in the real estate products group at Credit Suisse First Boston.
Mr. Huang earned a BA from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania
